A good leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly, knowing that at the end he and the other side must be closer, and thus emerge stronger. You don't have that idea when you are arrogant, superficial, and uninformed.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African activist, politician, philanthropist and lawyer who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. Politically an African nationalist and democratic socialist, he served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1991 to 1997.
Internationally, Mandela was Secretary General of the Non-Aligned Movement from 1998 to 1999. He was South Africa's first black chief executive, and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on tackling institutionalized racism, poverty and inequality. He received several awards including Sakharov Prize (1988), Bharat Ratna (1990), Nobel Peace Prize (1993), Order of Lenin and Presidential Medal of Freedom. His notable work includes "Long Walk to Freedom".
