Viktor Emil Frankl, M.D., Ph.D. was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist. He was the founder of logotherapy (existential analysis) and became one of the key figures in existential therapy and a prominent source of inspiration for humanistic psychologists. He received several honours and awards including 'Oskar Pfister Award', 'Great Silver Medal with Star for Services to the Republic of Austria' and 'Honorary Citizen of the City of Vienna'. He also wrote several books including 'Psychotherapy and Existentialism', 'The Will to Meaning' and 'Man's Search for Ultimate Meaning'.
